It’s still possible to reach your goals and here’s why you have to do it...
Feb 26, 2025
The first thing you need to know is that you are absolutely positively going to physically live through this administration.
100%. It’s not a question or a wondering. That’s not my claircognizance or the Holy Spirit. It’s just a point of fact. You are going to make it. You will live. Yes. You will. For certain.
The second thing you need to know is if you manage to die before the end of the MAGA era, your cause of death will not be related to MAGA politicians in any traceable way.

The MAGAs will not give you expedited cancer or AIDS. They will not release an airborne gas that only kills liberals, Black folx and the LGBTQIA2+.
They will not call your boss and your future bosses, your landlord and your car company, your state welfare board, and your county sheriff to make sure that you personally starve to death.
It won’t happen.
(I know someone reading this is losing their mind about how certain I am in this stance. Please read the rest of the list and then read the footnote.1)
The third thing you need to know is that your ability to succeed through the next administration, and even whoever they have planned for their follow up is not at all tied to them.

You control your own success yesterday, today, and forever.
The fourth thing you need to know is that while they are capable, they have no interest or desire in personally ruining your individual ability to thrive or succeed.
Me emphasizing personal and individual is not a selfish American perspective that is anti-community. It’s simply the foundation of community. It has to do with me changing your focus and dismantling your fear. They can’t touch you with your people around you. And for every you that will have faith in that word and get together and take care of each other’s needs, we won’t have anything to worry about.
The fifth and most important thing you need to know is since you are absolutely going to make it through this, what do you need to be able to tell yourself and your kids and your friends at the end of this experience?
Thought exercise: imagine yourself as somebody’s old, wrinkly grandparent or mentor, surrounded by your highest ideal of comfort and love telling stories about “Back in my day…”
I can’t answer the question of what you need for you, but what I can do is listen to you process it. Reply right here and tell me what you think - even if you think I’m absolutely insane.

Forecast to the next post: I don’t actually believe in goals anymore, I just wanted to reactivate that mindset for a second. If you read this far and you are one my wavelength, read this now and then make sure you’re subscribed so you see what’s next.
Footnotes:
If you pass away from cancer next year, that would have happened under a Harris-Walz administration also. The MAGAs have nothing to do with your neighborhood drive-by shootings or even with suicidal ideation. Teenagers and marginalized people struggle with identity issues and finding their place in the world. If no one shows them that they are loved and valued, they may not be able to overcome the depression that makes suicide look appealing. That's not a national politics issue. It's a home and community issue. If national politicians and media speak ill of me, but my parents and friends at school love and support me, all I have to do is turn off the TV and be careful with social media.
I am not reducing our problems to nothing. I am being practical about how we overcome them. Our support is around us in our neighborhoods or at least our municipalities. It has never been in the White House.
Prior to the Civil Rights Act and the Voting Rights Act, marginalized communities performed subversive and sometimes illegal group actions that helped their own. When a good education was not available to Black people in segregated schools, churches formed Freedom Schools.
The system that allows the police to kill people just because has been in place since the 13th amendment. It's not a MAGA thing.
The system that infiltrated Black neighborhoods with drugs and incarcerated the male population has been in place for 50 years. It's not a MAGA thing.
I am not saying we don't have issues. I'm saying our issues aren't Trump's fault. He is not going to make them better, true. But your community can make them better regardless. We are powerful beyond measure.
